Biography

Dr King Sang Wong is a General Surgeon who specialises in hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease. After graduating from Adelaide University in 2004 and completing his General Surgical training at St George Hospital (Sydney) and John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle), he obtained his fellowship in General Surgery in 2011.

He was the Upper GIT / Bariatric fellow here at John Flynn Private Hospital and at Tweed Heads Hospital in 2012. He then obtained a formal ANZHPBA fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2013, then Flinders Medical Centre (Adelaide) in 2014 as the HPB and Liver transplant fellow, where he gained experience in both open and laparoscopic liver and pancreas surgery, as well as complex biliary surgery.
 
He has interests not only in all aspects of hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease, but is also in open and laparoscopic /  minimally invasive abdominal hernia surgery.

In combination with the other members of the multi-disciplinary team at John Flynn Private and Tweed Heads hospitals, he hopes to provide an efficient and complete service of the highest quality for the patients of the Southern Gold Coast, Tweed and Northern Rivers regions.

He is currently the Director of Surgery and the Surgical Representative of the Medical Advisory Counil at the Tweed Hospital / Murwillumbah Hospitals.  He is also the General Surgical Chair Member of the Medical Advisory Council to the John Flynn Private Hospital.
